Helsingør Turisttrafik is environmentally certified according to ISO 14001.

“What does this mean for you as a customer?”
In short, it means that you as a customer know

HELSINGØR TURISTTRAFIK thinks about the environment.

With ISO certification, the company has committed to continuously improving processes and workflows that have an impact on the environment both in the short and long term.

From the start, the company was reviewed from A to Z to be certified. Subsequently, there have been monitoring visits once a year to check whether the ISO 14001 standard is maintained and whether the company is achieving the goals that have been set. Every 3 years there is re-certification.

We are therefore very careful about the following:

– Do the buses have oil spills
– Do the buses not idle
– Environmentally friendly driving
– Fuel consumption
– Environmentally friendly washing of the bus
– Consumption of water, electricity and heating
– The drinks that the drivers sell in the buses are purchased and paid for in Denmark and with a Danish deposit.

Yes, we are observant throughout our daily lives, both in the office, in the garage and in the buses.

Last October 2025, we renewed our ISO 14001 certificate during an annual monitoring/control visit.

The certificate must be renewed every 3 years, when the company is reviewed from A to Z. In the intervening years, there is an annual monitoring visit, where selected procedures are checked and reviewed.

New initiative for a better environment

We have switched to SHELL GTL FUEL (Gas-To-Liquids)

BECAUSE it is a cleaner product that is better for our environment, as it emits fewer harmful substances and particles.

And we would rather think about the environment than that it costs 2 kr. per liter more than regular diesel

You can read more about SHELL GTL FUEL HERE

In 2020, we replaced the regular plastic bags for waste in the buses with green/white BioBag bags, and the cups have been changed to cardboard cups and plastic spoons for wooden sticks to stir with.

In our garage facility, we have created a “Waste Island”. Here are various containers where we sort waste ourselves, from cardboard to spray cans, glass, batteries, etc., which we take to the recycling center ourselves.

We follow the municipality’s guidelines for business and the environment.

In the buses, we also need you as guests to use the waste bags that hang on the chairs or the large one in the middle of the bus and thereby collect your waste together.
